Lumen sits at the intersection. We design experiences where the entire city becomes your escape room. Where every checkpoint isn't just a task β€” it's a plot point. Where the puzzles aren't arbitrary β€” they serve the story.

The Mind Behind Lumen

Andrew Ha

Founder & Experience Designer

By day I work in technology consulting. I solve messy problems, design systems, and generally try to make complicated things feel simple. It's satisfying work, but it's not the thing that lights me up.

What lights me up is watching people have a great time together. I have over 100 board games in my collection β€” not because I'm a hoarder, but because I think there's something genuinely special about sitting around a table with people you like, trying to outsmart each other, making terrible decisions, and losing it laughing when someone's "genius strategy" falls apart on turn two.

I also spent a few years doing CSE Revue at UNSW β€” basically a live comedy show where you write sketches, act, sing, and dance in front of a few hundred people. It's chaotic and exhausting and I loved every second of it. It taught me how to tell a story, how to build tension, and how to land a moment so it actually hits.

Lumen is me trying to smash all of that together. The connection you get from board games. The narrative depth of a good escape room. The scale and energy of racing across a city. I want to build experiences that feel like you've stepped into a story β€” where the puzzles serve the plot and the whole thing builds to something that genuinely surprises you.

I'm not interested in designing something that's just "fun." I want people to walk away thinking "what just happened to me" β€” in the best possible way.
