Real streets, chosen with care
Routes are walked in advance: shade, glare, noise, access, and how foot traffic moves at the time of day we run. You are outside the whole time — no locked room, no gimmick checkpoints.
Adventures that illuminate the streets of Sydney.
What we run
Think of it as a facilitated outdoor adventure: your crew moves through a planned circuit, opens physical and light-digital challenges at each stop, and pieces together a story written for that route. Groups are small so we can keep quality high and the city respectful.
Routes are walked in advance: shade, glare, noise, access, and how foot traffic moves at the time of day we run. You are outside the whole time — no locked room, no gimmick checkpoints.
Logic, observation, and light tactile props — each beat exists because the plot needs it, not to pad the clock. Hints exist if a team genuinely stalls.
You might get a link, an image, or a short voice note when it serves the story. Most of the work is heads-up: talking, pointing, arguing kindly, laughing.
We write for Sydney — place names, textures, little truths locals recognise. The goal is a coherent arc from first clue to last beat, not a random string of tasks.
Friends, partners, work teams who want something memorable without the awkward forced fun. You set the pace within the window we give you.
Our Vision
Traditional Amazing Races are fun — but they often feel like a series of disconnected tasks. Traditional escape rooms are clever — but you are locked in one room.
Lumen sits at the intersection. We design experiences where the entire city becomes your escape room — where every checkpoint is a plot point and the puzzles serve the story, not the clock.
We believe the best experiences make you feel something: not just challenged, but moved, surprised, and connected to the people beside you.
That is what we are building: cinematic, immersive, story-driven adventures for people who want more than a scavenger hunt.

About
Co-founder — design, writing, hosting
I work in technology consulting during the week, where I spend most of my time untangling messy stakeholder problems, thinking in systems, and trying to make complex ideas easier to understand. Outside of work, I have always been drawn to experiences where people are fully present and engaged with each other.
At university, I was involved in amateur theatre, which taught me a lot about timing, storytelling, and what it takes to hold an audience together. It also showed me how much energy comes from groups of people building something live, where things do not always go to plan but often end up better because of it.
Lumen is an extension of that thinking, translated into real-world experiences. It is about creating stories that unfold through the city, designing puzzles that feel natural and satisfying to solve, and building moments where people feel genuinely part of something happening in real time.
Co-founder — puzzles, games, experience
I have been a lifelong board game enthusiast with a large personal collection, and I have always been interested in how games change the way people interact with each other. I am fascinated by how quickly a group can start to collaborate, compete, or negotiate when they are given a shared goal to figure out together.
I am especially drawn to the moments where a strategy almost works, or where a small detail changes everything and forces a group to rethink what they are doing. Those moments tend to be where the most memorable experiences come from.
At Lumen, I focus on designing puzzles and experiences that create those kinds of moments in the real world. My goal is to build challenges that feel intuitive and social, where the best solutions come from people thinking and communicating together rather than working alone.

We are still locking dates, ticketing, and exact capacity. If you want to be told when the pilot opens — or you have a venue, brand, or community group that might suit a private version — send a short note.
We read everything; replies are manual, not automated.
